Good quality plastic. Fits well.
I ordered a pinch-type lens cap once I installed this and figured out it's a chore to try and pry the stock lens cap off my Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM SLR Lens for EOS Digital SLRs. Just understand that this is a design limitation, not a product defect. This design was modeled after the MUCH more expensive Canon hood. -- Great but know the limits
